Dinner and a Play (all at once!)
http://thestrongbuzz.com/...

Forget pairing food with wine. That's so passé. Try pairing food with theatre (and this is no measly dinner and a play). Sound intriguing, yes? Eating Their Words is launching their company premiere on March 4th and 5th offering a special evening of theatre and food. This is a unique effort between director, playwrights, and chef creating a theatrical dinner whose short plays are written around a theme for that evening. The performance will be staged "in the round" (actors are encircled by guests while they eat) at The Tasting Room, where chef Colin Alevras has created a menu specifically for each play (even the timing of the performance with the food is rehearsed!).

So if you missed out on Valentine's Day, here's another shot - "love and food" will be the theme for this upcoming premier and will be directed by Marlo Hunter. The performance was written in collaboration with Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (Broadway's Mauritius), and the exciting new voices of the American theater, Sam Forman and Amy Herzog. The actors include Tony Award winners Isabel Keating (The Boy from Oz) and Frank Wood (Side Man), Maggie Lacey (Broadway's recent Inherit the Wind revival), and Austin Lysy (Shakespeare in the Park's A Midsummer Night's Dream). The evening begins promptly at 7pm and is $250 (includes dinner with wine pairings). Tickets for the inaugural event are extremely limited and can be purchased through the Eating Their Words website at www.eatingtheirwords.com.

The Tasting Room is located at 264 Elizabeth Street #A (between Prince and East Houston Street), 212-219-9478.
